Pleasantly surpised this morning to see a story about Imposter Syndrome in the news https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-6222071/Why-successful-women-suffer-impostor-syndrome.html
It is written by a psychologist with experience in the area and details how imposter syndrome is not just low self esteem but something else with its own pattern of thoughts and behaviours. It gives a bit of history of the recognition of the condition and explores apprarent gender differences.
What I found most interesting was the bit near the bottom about different types of imposter personality. Although I recognize elements of all the types (apparently its not unusual to recognize more than one) the one that really resonates with me is the "rugged individualist". I manage to both have pride that I stand alone on my own two feet responsible for myself yet at the same time feel I do not deserve help and should not ask for it. Something I am working on.
